In short: Forever Teams is Forever Group's Microsoft Teams calling service, built on Direct Routing. You keep your existing numbers and make calls in the Teams app on iOS, Android, Windows and Mac, with transfer, menus and department groups. No hardware is needed, desk phones are optional, licensing is supplied, call recording is optional and calls are itemised.
What Forever Teams is
Forever Teams is Forever Group's own service for making and receiving business calls in Microsoft Teams Phone. It connects Teams to the phone network using Teams Direct Routing run as a service, so there is no Session Border Controller or other equipment on your site.
Your landline numbers move to Forever Teams and ring in Teams, so callers dial the same numbers they always have. Staff answer on a laptop, PC, tablet or mobile over Wi-Fi or mobile data, in the office or anywhere else. Forever Systems supplies and supports Forever Teams as part of our vendor-neutral range.

How Forever Teams works
Forever Teams uses Microsoft's Direct Routing model:
- Each user has a Microsoft 365 or Teams plan plus a Teams Phone licence, which we can supply.
- Your numbers are ported to the Forever Teams service and assigned to users, auto attendants and call queues in Teams.
- Calls flow between Teams and the phone network through the service's certified Session Border Controllers in the cloud.
- You manage users in the familiar Microsoft 365 and Teams admin centres, and we handle the call routing and carrier side.
You do not need a Microsoft Calling Plan. Microsoft supports mixing PSTN options, so you could also keep a Calling Plan or Operator Connect for some users if that suits.
Who Forever Teams suits
Forever Teams is a good fit for organisations that:
- Already work in Microsoft 365 and Teams every day
- Want to keep their existing numbers rather than take new ones
- Prefer itemised UK call billing and a local supplier to a Microsoft-billed Calling Plan
- Are replacing an old PBX or ISDN lines before the PSTN closes, which BT says will happen by 31 January 2027 (see our ISDN replacement options)
- Are schools, academies, charities or non-profits, which can benefit from Microsoft's education and charity pricing on licences

Getting started
Moving to Forever Teams is straightforward:
- Tell us about your users, numbers, sites and any special lines such as door entry or alarms.
- We check your Microsoft 365 licences and recommend the Teams Phone licences you need.
- We plan menus, department groups, opening hours and recording, and order the number port.
- We set up Teams, test calls with you and supply any desk phones or headsets.
- On the port date your numbers ring in Teams, and we support you from then on.
